John Farrar
BEDROC’s owner and head instructor, John Farrar has been studying and practicing Martial Arts and competing since he was 8 years old and is “One of only a very few competitors in the World to Win National and Pan American Titles in Judo and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu”. Sensei John started in Judo and steadily progressed into Japanese Jujitsu, Boxing and then Brazilian Jujitsu. Sensei John has been competing in Combat Sports for over 30 years and has recently taken the Gold Medal at both the Pan Am No Gi Jiu-jitsu Championships in NYC and the Senior and Masters Jiu-Jitsu Championships in Rio, Brazil.
Sensei John’s dynamic teaching style and successful students are recognized all over the country, and in many Judo and Jujitsu circles World Wide; he has coached Judo National Champions, Grappling and Brazilian Jujitsu Champions, recent Pro and Amateur MMA title holders, and NAGA Champions. Sensei John has hosted many Grappling Tournaments in the Rochester area and is also a grappling referee for Hayastan, NYS Grappling Championships, and our own tournaments. His United States Marine Corps and Law Enforcement background ensure discipline and confidence surround BEDROC and its students.
